Brownie Girl Scout Troop 299 viewsBrownie Girl Scout Troop 67047 hiked the Sippican Land Trust Osprey walk in Marion on Sunday. Ms. Jerline used her Nature Anatomy book to help the girls identify plants. Ms. Liz and Ms. Alda helped the girls carry a tune as they learned three new songs for their Girl Scout Way badge. Ms. Tia helped remind them to maintain their 6 feet of distance with her yardstick and keep their masks on— they did so well! We welcomed a new girl from Acushnet.

Marion Natural History Museum299 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum’s afterschool group wishes to thank Dave Wilson and Isaac Perry of the Marion Harbormaster’s Office for the fun tour of Sippican Harbor last Wednesday. The wind was too strong to land on Bird Island, but we had a chance to view the activity on the island from the water and watch the terns catch some fish. We also visited with an osprey on Ram Island. We very much appreciate the opportunity to learn a little more about Marion’s bird life. Photos courtesy Elizabeth Leidhold

Marion Art Center299 viewsThe Marion Art Center’s latest show Emergence (now through May 6) is a delicate intermixing of tones, textures and artistic expression capturing natural themes. Textile artist Paula Stebbins Becker believes that the works connect memories to visual works equally in complexity to the human mind. By deconstructing woven pieces and creating new works of art, Becker captures the original or its memory and unites it through intricate processes with a new idea. Tracey J. Maroni’s paintings
