Marion Natural History Museum308 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Justin Barrett for his excellent program on learning how to bird watch. The kids had a lesson on using binoculars and had a chance to practice outside. Although it was getting dark, we saw a Junco, several sparrows, and took a close up look at squirrel nest. Thank you, Justin. Photo courtesy Elizabeth Leidhold.

Marion Natural History Museum308 viewsAfter learning how to build a snake hibernaculum, a beaver lodge, and a bear den, the group tried their hand at creating miniatures for museum display. The beaver lodge was tested to see if it held water back and still kept the lodge dry inside. It was a huge success! Feel free to come in to view any of these creations during the museum’s open hours. Photo courtesy Elizabeth Leidhold.

Brownie Girl Scout Troop 307 viewsBrownie Girl Scout Troop 67047 hiked the Sippican Land Trust Osprey walk in Marion on Sunday. Ms. Jerline used her Nature Anatomy book to help the girls identify plants. Ms. Liz and Ms. Alda helped the girls carry a tune as they learned three new songs for their Girl Scout Way badge. Ms. Tia helped remind them to maintain their 6 feet of distance with her yardstick and keep their masks on— they did so well! We welcomed a new girl from Acushnet.
