Our gracious hosts allowed us to explore the island beaches, streams, saltmarshes, open-water areas and Osprey nests. Some of the students who attend our programs had not been in a boat or explored an island before. The museum is so very thankful to the Moores for allowing us to explore and map the island. The jury-vetted assemblage of artisans surrounded the Elizabeth Taber statue and welcomed shoppers for their goods, while attendees also enjoyed goodies from a nearby food truck and live entertainment from the doorsteps of the MAC. Marion 4th of July Parade367 viewsMarion Town Administrator Jay McGrail and Select Board members Norm Hills, John Waterman, and Randy Parker walked the Independence Day parade route on Monday morning along with veterans, marching bands, Boy and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball teams, decorated floats, fire engines, and a convoy of antique cars. Beginning at the Town House, the parade route went up Spring Street, then east on Route 6 before going right onto Front Street all the way down to Main Street and back up to Spring. Photos by Ryan F

We learned about their life cycle, the plants these animals must have to reproduce and the plants they need to be able to survive their extremely long migration routes. We watched a video Maggie had taken of a monarch butterfly emerging from its chrysalis and expanding its wings to fly.
