Marion Village Stroll316 viewsCars lined several Marion streets as residents gathered for the town’s Christmas Stroll on December 12. Front Street and connecting village roads were partially closed for the event, as families enjoyed refreshments provided by area merchants at their doorsteps and along the roads. Clydesdale horses escorted Santa Claus and passengers, while the Sippican Elementary School Band played, Tabor Academy student singer Wesley Lai of Hong Kong sang, and a bike rider juggled bowling pins. Marion Natural History Museum 316 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Paul Gregory for sharing his collection of shells and fossils with students who wish to start their own. Along with perusing guidebooks to identify an item, we learned the importance of the history of the artifact, where and when it was collected and by whom. Natural history museums are wonderful resources for students, artists and scientists.

Nolanfest316 viewsNearing the fifth anniversary of the passing of Nolan Gibbons, Nolanfest 2025 was held at Silvershell Beach this past Saturday evening. Hundreds were in attendance to pay tribute, remember, and support local singers and musical artists. Over 20 different performances occurred at the stage, including The Showstoppers, of which Nolan was a member beginning in 2014 at the age of nine. The event was free but saw numerous donations to the Nolan Gibbons Memorial Fund which goes towards supporting artists through

Brownie Girl Scout Troop 315 viewsBrownie Girl Scout Troop 67047 hiked the Sippican Land Trust Osprey walk in Marion on Sunday. Ms. Jerline used her Nature Anatomy book to help the girls identify plants. Ms. Liz and Ms. Alda helped the girls carry a tune as they learned three new songs for their Girl Scout Way badge. Ms. Tia helped remind them to maintain their 6 feet of distance with her yardstick and keep their masks on— they did so well! We welcomed a new girl from Acushnet.
