Front Street and connecting village roads were partially closed for the event, as families enjoyed refreshments provided by area merchants at their doorsteps and along the roads. Clydesdale horses escorted Santa Claus and passengers, while the Sippican Elementary School Band played, Tabor Academy student singer Wesley Lai of Hong Kong sang, and a bike rider juggled bowling pins. Since 1922, the National Fire Protection Association has been helping local fire departments with educational materials related to fire safety.

Fiber Fusion is the name of the show as well as the name of the five artists whose imaginations are on full display. Christine Anderson, Carol Flax, Lorraine Gentil Hayes, Lisa Horton, and Toni Newhall are Fiber Fusion. Their works bridge the worlds of nature and art in new ways.

Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 373 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School.
