Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 391 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School. Sunday, May 29, was a picture perfect day for a parade. Osprey Marsh Accessible Boardwalk391 viewsDespite a downpour perfectly timed for its planned gathering on Friday off Point Road in Marion, the Sippican Lands Trust celebrated the completion of the new Osprey Marsh Accessible Boardwalk. Executive Director Jim Bride and president Alan Harris held a live Zoom meeting for those who could not attend, and some of the donors for the project assisted in the ribbon-cutting. Marion Natural History Museum391 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum hosted a Nature Journaling program on October 3 with artist Tricia Cassidy. We enjoyed beautiful weather while hearing about a variety of strategies to allow everyone, even the most insecure participants, to be able to express the beauty of the natural environment on paper. We enjoyed several loosening-up exercises by playing with time constraints, not looking at the paper while drawing the subject, and framing our subject so as not to get too confused with the big picture.
