Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Parish 335 viewsOn Sunday, November 17th parishioners at Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Parish in Marion created over two hundred apple pies at its annual “Great Pie Challenge”. This annual intergenerational event was brought to Marion by Wendy Reardon who is St. Gabriel’s Director of Youth and Family Formation. About 150 pies will be donated to local organizations who will give them away to people in need. The rest of the pies will be sold as a fundraiser which will help raise money for the 2025 Youth Mission Trip heading to N

Coastal Sweep334 viewsLed by Marion resident Peter McDonald, environmentally-minded locals and Tabor students descended upon Marions Silvershell Beach and Planting Island, Mattapoisett Town Beach and Warehams Onset Beach to pick up trash and debris on the morning of September 17, 2011. The residents cleaned the beaches in solidarity with 400,000 individuals in 120 countries, all who participated in a global beach cleanup orchestrated by the Ocean Conservancy. Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 334 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School. Running with Hannah334 viewsHannah Strom ran from Island Wharf down Front Street to Silvershell Beach on Sunday morning, surrounded by her brother and friends. The accomplishment is a major step in the Marion native’s long road back from severe injuries sustained last January in a horrific crash while traveling in Florida with the Holy Cross rowing team. At the end of her run, her father surprised her with a puppy. The Tabor Academy graduate plans to go back to the Worcester-based college and rejoin the rowing program.
