Marion Natural History Museum231 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum hosted a Nature Journaling program on October 3 with artist Tricia Cassidy. We enjoyed beautiful weather while hearing about a variety of strategies to allow everyone, even the most insecure participants, to be able to express the beauty of the natural environment on paper. We enjoyed several loosening-up exercises by playing with time constraints, not looking at the paper while drawing the subject, and framing our subject so as not to get too confused with the big picture.

Brian explained why land turtles are rounder than turtles that live in water, and that turtles have been on earth for 200 million years. Box turtles protect themselves by pulling their heads and legs into their shell and closing up, however they don't move very fast.
