Marion Natural History Museum277 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum’s after-school group had fun with hands-on inspections of some of our local amphibian species. We took a look at Green frog tadpoles, Wood frog and salamander egg masses. We also looked at some of our aquatic invertebrates, such as Water boatman, Caddisfly larvae and others that help by breaking down the leaves at the bottom of the pool and starting the forest food chain. Bethany brought in some of her most adorable mammals, including a Fennec Fox (native to Africa), a Tenrec (native to Madagascar), a Hedgehog named Peter Quill, a Chinchilla and a skunk. Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 275 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School. Marion 4th of July Parade275 viewsMarion Town Administrator Jay McGrail and Select Board members Norm Hills, John Waterman, and Randy Parker walked the Independence Day parade route on Monday morning along with veterans, marching bands, Boy and Girl Scout troops, youth baseball teams, decorated floats, fire engines, and a convoy of antique cars. Beginning at the Town House, the parade route went up Spring Street, then east on Route 6 before going right onto Front Street all the way down to Main Street and back up to Spring. Photos by Ryan F
