We took a close look at the insides of cranberries to discover what makes them float, counted seeds - which tell us how many times a plant was fertilized by a bee – and had a chance to see how far we could "bounce" a berry. The group also compared various artifacts such as relative sizes of Megaladon teeth versus White Shark, and took a look at many examples of fossils such as fish, leaves, and the tiny tracks of a trilobite. The group was formed in August, 2006 and is made up of men who are traditional jazz and Dixieland music enthusiasts, many of whom are also members of the long-established Stone Street Strummers Banjo Band. Town Tour544 viewsAfter being introduced in class to the history, geography, and government of Marion, third graders from Sippican School recently took a walking tour of Marion village during their last week of school.
Students visited many historical sites such as the Marion Townhouse (formerly Tabor Academy), Marion General Store, and the Sippican Historical Society. They also saw the Marion Music Hall, Art Center, Women's Club (formerly Handy's Tavern), Beverly Yacht Club, and several private homes.

Cushing Post 2425 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
