The group was formed in August, 2006 and is made up of men who are traditional jazz and Dixieland music enthusiasts, many of whom are also members of the long-established Stone Street Strummers Banjo Band. Do-Si-Do in Marion547 viewsOn Sunday, September 14, the first of what is hoped to be an annual series of Marion Square Dances was held inside the Marion Community Center. Although initially slated to take place in the parking lot adjacent to the Marion General Store, the weekend’s rainy weather forced the event indoors. Town Tour547 viewsAfter being introduced in class to the history, geography, and government of Marion, third graders from Sippican School recently took a walking tour of Marion village during their last week of school.
Students visited many historical sites such as the Marion Townhouse (formerly Tabor Academy), Marion General Store, and the Sippican Historical Society. They also saw the Marion Music Hall, Art Center, Women's Club (formerly Handy's Tavern), Beverly Yacht Club, and several private homes.

Marion Natural History Museum547 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group would like to thank Dawn Gates-Allen of the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association for the enjoyable program involving one of Southeastern Massachusetts’ most important crops. We took a close look at the insides of cranberries to discover what makes them float, counted seeds - which tell us how many times a plant was fertilized by a bee – and had a chance to see how far we could "bounce" a berry.
