Touch-A-Truck 525 viewsMarion Recreation held its 8th annual Touch-A-Truck event at Washburn Park on May 11. The turnout exceeded past Kids Equipment Fun Day events in Marion, especially last year’s, which was repeatedly postponed and then canceled altogether. Dixieland in Marion524 viewsThe Dixie Diehards returned to the Marion Art Center on Saturday, April 26 for a performance at 7:30 pm. The group was formed in August, 2006 and is made up of men who are traditional jazz and Dixieland music enthusiasts, many of whom are also members of the long-established Stone Street Strummers Banjo Band. Do-Si-Do in Marion524 viewsOn Sunday, September 14, the first of what is hoped to be an annual series of Marion Square Dances was held inside the Marion Community Center. Although initially slated to take place in the parking lot adjacent to the Marion General Store, the weekend’s rainy weather forced the event indoors.
