Works have been created by students from Sippican Elementary and Old Rochester Regional Junior and Senior high schools. Volunteers371 viewsPenny Pinchers Exchange, located in the Elizabeth Taber Chapel on Main Street in Marion, spent a very busy April 24 morning working with six, amazingly capable students as they sorted, rearranged, organized, tagged and cleared out all the winter stock and readied the incoming summer inventory. PPX, an all-volunteer group of women, is so very grateful for their help. What these young people did in two hours would have taken two weeks of Wednesdays and Saturdays. Second Annual Kid’s Equipment Day370 viewsLittle kids and big, big machines on a warm spring Marion morning made for tons of fun at the Marion Recreation’s Second Annual Kid’s Equipment Day on May 10. A row of different Town-owned vehicles including a police cruiser, ambulance, earth diggers, a fire engine, and fire trucks lined the Town House field. Tabor Academy Polar Plunge370 viewsTabor Academy hosted its second annual Polar Plunge on Sunday, January 21 at Silvershell Beach to raise money for the school’s Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. Students from ‘fundraising rival’ Sandwich High also showed up, with scores of students and staff making a dash in and quickly out of the chilly waters. The plunge raised about $8,000.
