Marion Village 5K380 viewsThe number of participants in this year’s Marion Village 5K might have been down slightly according to race organizers, but the sentiment of fun and competition certainly was not on Saturday, June 25. Taking first place for men was Andrew Sukeforth of Middleboro with a time of 15:43, and Meg Hughes of Rochester won first place in the women’s division with a time of 19:50. St. Gabriel's Church Youth Group 380 viewsOn Saturday, January 25, St. Gabriel's Church Youth Group in Marion, hosted a Spaghetti Dinner to raise funds for our summer mission trip to North Carolina for hurricane relief efforts. Our team of 20 teens & 6 adults made all of the food and served the meal. We had a sold-out event! It was a fun evening of good food, great fellowship & awesome live music. Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 379 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School. Boy Scouts of Marion, Troop 32379 viewsThe Boy Scouts of Marion, Troop 32 recently took part in a Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Class at the Marion Fire Department that was arranged by Star Scout Chris Horton. Firefighters Mike Enright and Kevin Buckley taught a Friends and Family version of CPR class in two hours. The Scouts got hands on experience in what it takes to save a life and the dangers therein.
