Dan Crete and his family sought to add this one-of-a-kind addition to their home to be used as a gathering place for his friends and family using no nails, handmade pegs, a lot of manpower and a little bit of Yankee ingenuity. Marion Natural History Museum622 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group would like to thank Dawn Gates-Allen of the Cape Cod Cranberry Growers Association for the enjoyable program involving one of Southeastern Massachusetts’ most important crops. We took a close look at the insides of cranberries to discover what makes them float, counted seeds - which tell us how many times a plant was fertilized by a bee – and had a chance to see how far we could "bounce" a berry. Cushing Community Center on Sunday, December 8. ‘Chief’ Santa and Mrs. Claus entertained the little ones before enjoying a pizza lunch. The group was formed in August, 2006 and is made up of men who are traditional jazz and Dixieland music enthusiasts, many of whom are also members of the long-established Stone Street Strummers Banjo Band.
