Kids Equipment Fun Day386 viewsSaturday, May 7, was the date for the annual Kids Equipment Fun Day at Washburn Park in Marion, sponsored by Marion Recreation. The kids climbed aboard ambulances, fire trucks, police cruisers, and even the harbormaster’s boat. The pouring rain didnt stop Santa from spreading candy and holiday cheer to the crowd of exciting children. 4th Fireworks385 viewsDespite funding setbacks, the Marion fireworks took place this year at Silver Shell Beach under perfectly clear skies. Revelers enjoyed the patriotic music of Phil Sanborn and the Marion Concert Band while brilliant colors illuminated the harbor. Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 385 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School. VASE member Diana Martin organized the event, with the support of about 12 volunteers who assisted that morning in making sure the two races went off without a hitch. Photo by Felix Perez

Second Annual Kid’s Equipment Day385 viewsLittle kids and big, big machines on a warm spring Marion morning made for tons of fun at the Marion Recreation’s Second Annual Kid’s Equipment Day on May 10. A row of different Town-owned vehicles including a police cruiser, ambulance, earth diggers, a fire engine, and fire trucks lined the Town House field.
