Sippican School Garden Club438 viewsMembers of the Sippican School Garden Club have been busy this harvest season caring for their vegetables, herbs, and flowers after school. On September 23 it took ten enthusiastic little gardeners to pull up a ten-foot tall sunflower and carry it to “Weed Mountain.” After, the kids collected greens, grasses, and flowers to make an arrangement for the main office. Kohout, donated his 16 foot, mahogany, 1959 Canadian Mounty Police Wooden Cargo Canoe to Marion Boy Scout Troop 32/Cub Scout Pack 32 on Thursday September 11, 2014. The Scouts are honored to have such an amazing vessel offered to them and plan to use it in future outings. Pictured are Paul S. Taber Fall Lapsit Program438 viewsThe Fall Lapsit Program for babies kicked off on October 7 at the Taber Library in Marion. Babies and their caregivers enjoy 20 minutes of stories and 20 minutes of social time. Children’s Librarian Rosemary Gray delighted five happy babies with some peekaboo, short stories such as Where is Baby’ Belly Button, and songs like the Itsy Bitsy Spider. There was a performance by the Toe Jam Puppet Band, a Birds of Prey demonstration, face painting, and a rock-climbing wall.
