MNHM Bird Island Trip401 viewsMany thanks to Mike, Isaac and Adam of the Marion Harbormaster’s office for the wonderful trip to Bird Island last week. Warm weather and very little wind added up to a perfect opportunity to explore the island during it’s shore bird “off season”. We looked for left over eggs, bones and nesting material. We also had an opportunity to visit the light house and take in views from the top, which included Cape Cod and the canal railroad bridge. Thank you for the great trip! Kids Equipment Fun Day401 viewsSaturday, May 7, was the date for the annual Kids Equipment Fun Day at Washburn Park in Marion, sponsored by Marion Recreation. The kids climbed aboard ambulances, fire trucks, police cruisers, and even the harbormaster’s boat. Santa's Arrival400 viewsMarion children gave a rock stars welcome to Santa Claus, who arrived at Marions Annual Holiday Stroll by boat on December 13. The pouring rain didnt stop Santa from spreading candy and holiday cheer to the crowd of exciting children. Marion Clean-up400 viewsMarion residents hit the street to pick up trash around town on Saturday, May 15. All over Marion, there were people in day-glo vests working with Manducas, long pincers made by Marion resident Eunice Manduca for picking up trash.
