Marion Christmas Stroll 405 viewsThe Marion Christmas Stroll is one of the quintessential holiday events in Tri-Town, with Santa making his grand entrance via boat and hopping aboard a horse-drawn carriage to ride through Marion village with some lucky kids who hop aboard with him. Marion Memorial Day405 viewsRochester fared far better with its Memorial Day celebration than Marion and Mattapoisett did with theirs on rainy Monday. Sunday, May 29, was a picture perfect day for a parade. At the Town Hall, the names of the fallen soldiers were read aloud and the Rochester Memorial School Band played patriotic songs before heading out for the parade. Photos by Colin Veitch

Marion Village 5K405 viewsThe number of participants in this year’s Marion Village 5K might have been down slightly according to race organizers, but the sentiment of fun and competition certainly was not on Saturday, June 25. Taking first place for men was Andrew Sukeforth of Middleboro with a time of 15:43, and Meg Hughes of Rochester won first place in the women’s division with a time of 19:50. The annual 5K race that winds its way through scenic Marion village is now in its 20th year. Photos by Colin Veitch
