5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot447 viewsThere were 31 registered runners for this year’s 5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot for Marion Recreation on Sunday, November 22. The course takes runners from Tabor Academy down Front Street through the village and back again to Tabor. Hot to Trot447 viewsThe third annual “Hot to Trot” dog walk hosted by the Sippican Lands Trust brought about 20 dogs and at least twice as many humans out for a post-Thanksgiving walk at the SLT’s White Eagle property in Marion on November 29. Kids Equipment Fun Day447 viewsSaturday, May 7, was the date for the annual Kids Equipment Fun Day at Washburn Park in Marion, sponsored by Marion Recreation. The kids climbed aboard ambulances, fire trucks, police cruisers, and even the harbormaster’s boat. This year, Recreation Director and Selectman Jody Dickerson served up free hotdogs during the popular event that seemed to draw a bigger crowd this year than the previous years. Photos by Ethan Akins

Marion Village 5K447 viewsThe number of participants in this year’s Marion Village 5K might have been down slightly according to race organizers, but the sentiment of fun and competition certainly was not on Saturday, June 25. Taking first place for men was Andrew Sukeforth of Middleboro with a time of 15:43, and Meg Hughes of Rochester won first place in the women’s division with a time of 19:50. A Sacred Space 447 viewsThe Town of Marion celebrated the grand opening of the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center on August 12 with an Open House, welcoming the general public to view the results of a months-long renovation that converted the old VFW Post #2425 building into a center for seniors and all residents to enjoy.
