Fireworks Gala406 viewsPeople were still trickling in at 8:00 pm as the Marion Fireworks Committee’s second annual beach party on April 5 started picking up the pace with music and lights provided by Fun 107’s Michael Rock, and guests holding drinks with little umbrellas began shaking their hips. Taber Fall Lapsit Program406 viewsThe Fall Lapsit Program for babies kicked off on October 7 at the Taber Library in Marion. Babies and their caregivers enjoy 20 minutes of stories and 20 minutes of social time. Children’s Librarian Rosemary Gray delighted five happy babies with some peekaboo, short stories such as Where is Baby’ Belly Button, and songs like the Itsy Bitsy Spider. Marion Natural History Museum406 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum’s afterschool group enjoyed a wonderful program about sea turtles of Buzzards Bay last Wednesday. During the program the students had a chance to view videos of hatchling turtles, learn a little about sea turtle biology, and handle some live terrapins. Marion Firefighter’s Association406 viewsThe Marion Firefighter’s Association held its annual spaghetti supper fundraiser on Saturday, January 31 at the Marion VFW. The students had a chance to conduct a variety of experiments and create their own mini-submersibles to take home. Marion Village 5K406 viewsThe Marion Village 5K is in its 19th year, and over 250 participants turned out to run the 3.1-mile course along the waterfront and through the quaint Marion village.
