In collaboration with the Marion Garden Group, paintings were staged with floral arrangements to provide viewers with a unique art installation. The paintings will be on view for the next month. Annual Turkey Trot 5K 408 viewsThe Annual Turkey Trot 5K wound its way through Marion Village on Sunday, November 17, with 182 trotters (and some ‘turkeys’ as well) braving a chilling wind that morning to make it to the finish line. Organized by the Marion Recreation Department, the event every year draws quite a flock of runners to the start and finish line at Tabor Academy, raising funds for Marion Rec programs and events. Marion Natural History Museum408 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Caroline Grainger for her donation of several beautifully carved birds created by her father, James Babbit. The museum lost many of its specimens during our ceiling collapse and these incredibly detailed pieces are greatly appreciated. Living History 408 viewsIt looked like July 8, 1776 at Silvershell Beach in Marion this past Saturday. Folks from the Fairhaven Village Militia and Wareham Militia Group in conjunction with Marion Recreation and the Marion Cultural Council took spectators back in time to Colonial Massachusetts during a weekend-long encampment at the beach. Participants in olde-tyme apparel demonstrated what life was like in the 1770s during the Revolutionary War through demonstrations of drilling, cooking, and flintlock musket use. Photos by Jean

Marion COVID-19 Vaccinations408 viewsThe Town of Marion conducted a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination clinic for first responders on January 13 and 14 at the Cushman Community Center. Marion was approved by the state as a designated COVID-19 vaccination distributor and the town received 400 doses to inoculate first responders from Marion, Mattapoisett, Rochester, and Wareham.
