Taber Fall Lapsit Program450 viewsThe Fall Lapsit Program for babies kicked off on October 7 at the Taber Library in Marion. Babies and their caregivers enjoy 20 minutes of stories and 20 minutes of social time. Children’s Librarian Rosemary Gray delighted five happy babies with some peekaboo, short stories such as Where is Baby’ Belly Button, and songs like the Itsy Bitsy Spider. Submersibles450 viewsSteering, propulsion and buoyancy were the topics at-hand during the Marion Natural History Museum’s afterschool group’s latest program, “Submersibles” with engineer Mark Whalen. The students had a chance to conduct a variety of experiments and create their own mini-submersibles to take home. There was a performance by the Toe Jam Puppet Band, a Birds of Prey demonstration, face painting, and a rock-climbing wall. Marion Village 5K450 viewsThe Marion Village 5K is in its 19th year, and over 250 participants turned out to run the 3.1-mile course along the waterfront and through the quaint Marion village.
