Pinewood Derby458 viewsOn Saturday, March 2nd 2013, The Cubs Scout Pack 32 held a pinewood derby at the Community Hall of the Congregational Church in Marion. The results were 1st Lucas Marcolini, 2nd Brendan Hubbard, 3rd Nathaniel Bangs, and 4th Nate Robertson. All four move on to regional finals in New Bedford later this month. The Tabor Academy history teacher shared his experiences in Vietnam with a small group of Marion residents last week at the Elizabeth Taber Library, bringing with him a seeming fortune in Vietnamese Dong, a treasure trove of handicrafts, and hundreds of photos, some of which he presented with a little academic insight and plenty of comical commentary.

Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run 458 views Sunday, May 4 was a perfect day for a fun run through Marion, and about 200 people turned out to participate in VASE’s second annual Sippican Schooner 5k and Mini Fun Run to raise money for educational programs at Sippican Elementary School. VASE member Diana Martin organized the event, with the support of about 12 volunteers who assisted that morning in making sure the two races went off without a hitch. Photo by Felix Perez
