The Heart of Christmas459 viewsMarion’s First Congregational Church delivered the season’s perfection with Cassandra Morgan directing ‘The Heart of Christmas’ cantata. This annual event is sugar on the plums for anyone who appreciates live music. The combined voices and instruments of over 60 performers filled the church with pitch perfect music telling the story of Jesus’ birth. Family Campout at Camp Hadley459 viewsOn the weekend of June 7 the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts met for their annual Family Campout at Camp Hadley in Marion. The Scouts started off with a firewood moving exercise that got all involved and started the day off right. The Boy Scouts did a great job introducing the Cub Scouts to ‘Line Rescue’ in the water, Knife, Saw and Axe Safety, Fire Safety, Dutch Oven Cooking (with a pineapple upside down cake) and a Flag Raising and Lowering Ceremony.
