Marion Natural History Museum400 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank the Marion Harbormaster's office for a wonderful trip to Bird Island. The students were able to visit the island and see some of the birds that rely on this special habitat for raising their young. The children saw Oystercatchers, Osprey, and Terns. They also learned a little about the history of the lighthouse. Chemistry of Tie Dye400 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's last afterschool program of this school year featured "Chemistry of Tie Dye" with Chemist Jessica Robidoux and coordinated by Dr. William (Toby) Dills of UMass Dartmouth's Chemistry Department. The Museum wishes to thank Ms. Robidoux, Dr. Dills, and all the many volunteers who showed up to help with the program. Marion Village 5K400 viewsThe Marion Village 5K is in its 19th year, and over 250 participants turned out to run the 3.1-mile course along the waterfront and through the quaint Marion village. Antique Car Show400 views It was a great turnout for the Agawam’s 3rd Annual Antique Car Show at Washburn Park in Marion on Saturday, August 29. Classic car entrants signed their antique automobiles up for a chance to win first, second, or third place in the show. The sponsoring group, Agawam Chapter No. 121 Order of the Eastern Star, uses the proceeds from the event to benefit various charities the group supports.
