Marion Natural History Museum346 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum wishes to thank Blake Dinius, entomologist with the Plymouth County Extension Service, for sharing his knowledge of our backyard bugs. Did you know that the cecropia moth is Massachusetts’ largest insect? And that it has a wingspan of up to 6 inches? Blake also brought in a live praying mantis and many specimens of moths and winged insects under glass to take a close up look at with magnifiers. The museum also wishes to thank all the volunteers who helped with the program

First Congregational Church of Marion346 viewsOn Sunday, April 22, the First Congregational Church of Marion held a special Earth Day service, celebrating God's creation. Kathleen, Lily, Camila, and Maddie did a skit around the theme of reduce, reuse, recycle. After the service, we had a procession down to the Town Wharf where we cleaned up trash. Marion Holiday Stroll346 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year. Each Sunday, people dropped change into a collection jar on the communion table. On March 21, 2010, the Church presented two grants to two local agencies and two schools.
