Hot-To-Trot Dog Walk444 viewsOn November 30, a spring-like winter’s day, the Sippican Lands Trust held its 2nd annual Hot-To-Trot Post-Thanksgiving Day dog walk. About 12 dogs of all shapes and sizes brought their humans out for a guided tour of the White Eagle property located off Route 6 in Marion. Dogs received stylish orange neckerchiefs and dog treats. 2014 Scouting For Food444 views2014 Scouting For Food a great success! The Marion Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of Troop 32 would like to thank the residents of Marion for their generous contributions to the recent Scouting for Food. Close to 200 bags of non-perishable goods were collected. The Scouts would also like to thank their partners in this effort, the Marion Police Brotherhood, for all their support and assistance.

Marion Village Stroll444 viewsThere were hundreds strolling the streets during the 2014 Marion Holiday Stroll on December 14. Celebrity sightings included Santa Claus on his carriage, the Grinch, the Nutcracker, and Sparky the Fire Dog. The Showstoppers and The Sippican School Marching Band lit up the afternoon until the tree lighting ceremony lit up the night, the finale of that starry-skied evening. Marion Art Center Members Show444 viewsMembers of the Marion Art Center showcased their work during the opening reception of the MAC Annual Winter Members Show on January 9. Members were allowed to submit up to three pieces, and MAC Executive Director Deborah Bokelkamp said members not only have artistic skill, but they possess the skill of self-expression. “The person doing it feels it,” said Bokelkamp. “It’s not just the act, it’s the expression.” The show runs until February 28. The course takes runners from Tabor Academy down Front Street through the village and back again to Tabor.
