Marion Fire Department 347 viewsSunday was a solemn day for the Tri-Town and its first responders as many gathered to honor Thomas Nye, 72, a 45-year veteran of the Marion Fire Department who died February 27 in the line of duty. Over 100 firefighters, police officers, and EMS personnel from the Tri-Town and beyond marched together down Route 6 in Mattapoisett on March 3 to pay their respects to their fallen comrade who suffered a cardiac arrest at home after assisting in a fire call the night before. Marion Boy Scouts346 viewsThe Scouts of Troop 32 Marion Boy Scouts went on a backpacking and camping trip on October 4 and 5 at Camp Yawgoog in Hopkington, Rhode Island. With all of their gear on their backs, the Scouts hiked five miles, including a long leg that went around Yawgoog Pond. This included setting up camp at two different locations for two different nights: Sherwood Forest and Hidden Lake.
