Marion Block Party455 views: The Marion Block Party was held on Saturday, August 25, 2012, in front of the Town Hall. The family bar-b-que lasted all day, and featured a classic car display, live music, and kids activities. Proceeds from the event will go to help fund the construction of a new playground at Washburn Park and to help pay for a new thermal imager for the Marion Fire Department. On September 23 it took ten enthusiastic little gardeners to pull up a ten-foot tall sunflower and carry it to “Weed Mountain.” After, the kids collected greens, grasses, and flowers to make an arrangement for the main office.
