The turnout exceeded past Kids Equipment Fun Day events in Marion, especially last year’s, which was repeatedly postponed and then canceled altogether. The Derby was held at the Sippican School where scouts raced cars weighing less than 5 ounces down a sloped wooden track. Everyone cheered as the wooden cars raced down the track in packs or four. Pinewood Derby356 viewsOn Saturday, March 2nd 2013, The Cubs Scout Pack 32 held a pinewood derby at the Community Hall of the Congregational Church in Marion. The results were 1st Lucas Marcolini, 2nd Brendan Hubbard, 3rd Nathaniel Bangs, and 4th Nate Robertson. All four move on to regional finals in New Bedford later this month. ‘The Secret’356 viewsThe Marion Art Center wrapped up the first session of Artstart with a production of ‘The Secret’ this Friday. The two-week program for children ages four to nine focuses on arts, crafts, music, theater and stories. Program director Nancy Sparklin said the children had great fun and all got along wonderfully.
