Pinewood Derby461 viewsOn Saturday, March 2nd 2013, The Cubs Scout Pack 32 held a pinewood derby at the Community Hall of the Congregational Church in Marion. The results were 1st Lucas Marcolini, 2nd Brendan Hubbard, 3rd Nathaniel Bangs, and 4th Nate Robertson. All four move on to regional finals in New Bedford later this month. Other awards included, Best Theme to Connor Lavoie for his Batmobile, Best Design to David Strom for Kool Kone and Best Paint Job to Max Richins for Bulldog. Photos by Felix Perez

Art in Bloom461 viewsThe Marion Art Center’s Art in Bloom opened on Friday, organizers and volunteers gathered Friday afternoon to prepare the exhibit. Works by Mary Jane McCoy and Arthur Kvarnstrom will be paired with interpretative floral arrangements by members of the Marion Garden Discussion Group. Art in Bloom runs through July 13. The Marion Art Center Gallery is open on Tuesday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Photo by Shawn Badgley

Marion Natural History Museum461 viewsOn Wednesday, Dec. 10th, the Marion Natural History Museum afterschool group enjoyed working on crafts from nature and recycled materials. Thank you to all the volunteers who made this such a happy and fun-filled event. Many, many thanks to Grace Moran for her kind donation of frames complete with glass, which the students used to create their own masterpieces for gift-giving.
