Tabor Academy Polar Plunge433 viewsTabor Academy hosted its second annual Polar Plunge on Sunday, January 21 at Silvershell Beach to raise money for the school’s Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. Marion Natural History Museum433 viewsTalented artist and wood carver James Babbit, Sr. made a wonderful dollhouse for his adult sister, Cynthia Babbit Bryden. Karilon Babbit Grainger inherited it from her aunt, and has now donated the dollhouse to the Marion Natural History Museum for all to enjoy. The fantastic structure is just perfect for the imaginative play of our visitors, children and adults alike. Working lights, beautiful furniture, and many minute details make this item a fun way to spend some time playing at the museum.

Block Party!432 viewsIt was a little earlier than usual, but the annual Marion Block Party on August 28, 2010 went off without a hitch. Children enjoyed cotton candy, a bounce house and face-painting, while the grown-ups enjoyed conversation and good weather. Klondike Derby 432 viewsThe Marion Boy Scouts Troops 32 competed in the Klondike Derby held at Camp Cachalot in Carver, MA. All of the competing towns had to use sledges and Klondike Gold Rush themes to compete in a race. The winning troop earned a grand outdoor winter adventure. The event helps the scouts test their basic camping and survival skills. Pinewood Derby432 viewsOn Saturday, March 2nd 2013, The Cubs Scout Pack 32 held a pinewood derby at the Community Hall of the Congregational Church in Marion. The results were 1st Lucas Marcolini, 2nd Brendan Hubbard, 3rd Nathaniel Bangs, and 4th Nate Robertson. All four move on to regional finals in New Bedford later this month.
