Bridge Fundraiser369 viewsFrom left to right; Elizabeth Tabor Library special events committee co-chair, Lynn Crocker , Asha Wallace, president of the board of trustees and Kathy Reed co-chair are combining a favorite hobby with a great cause. On Friday, August 22, a benefit tournament of duplicate and social bridge will take place at the Marion Music Hall. The entry fee is $25. Doors open at 1:30 pm, light refreshments served and the games begin at 2:00. All proceeds will be donated to the Elizabeth Taber Library.

Hot-To-Trot Dog Walk369 viewsOn November 30, a spring-like winter’s day, the Sippican Lands Trust held its 2nd annual Hot-To-Trot Post-Thanksgiving Day dog walk. About 12 dogs of all shapes and sizes brought their humans out for a guided tour of the White Eagle property located off Route 6 in Marion. Dogs received stylish orange neckerchiefs and dog treats. Dr. Tom Burns369 viewsDr. Tom Burns, an avid underwater photographer, shared many of the photos he has taken of many of New England’s shark species in a lively and entertaining program at the Marion Natural History Museum last Friday. Dr. Burns is a veterinarian on Cape Cod and enjoys sharing his knowledge of shark species and their natural history with the public. Marion Village 5K369 viewsThe Marion Village 5K is in its 19th year, and over 250 participants turned out to run the 3.1-mile course along the waterfront and through the quaint Marion village. Runners of all ages took part in the race, and the top 20 runners all finished in less than 20 minutes. Photos by Felix Perez
