Occasion Singers488 viewsLeft: The Marion Art Center celebrated Valentines Day a few days early as they welcomed the Occasion Singers for a sold out performance during the center’s Cabaret Night of Love Songs on Saturday evening, February 11. The capacity crowd was treated to a night of jazz, pop, older standards and love songs from the Tri-Town based vocal group. Big Trucks488 viewsDespite the soggy weather on Saturday, May 11th, close to 100 kids of all ages came to Marion Recreation’s Kid’s Equipment Day held at Town Field on Main Street. Kids were able to climb and explore a fire truck, ambulance, bucket truck, police cruiser, street sweeper and construction vehicles. All children received a free fire hat or construction hat. Many volunteers were on hand to assist the kids and to answer any questions.

Boats from Recycled Materials488 viewsYoungsters gather last Thursday for the Mattapoisett Historical Society’s event making boats out of recycled materials. The Heart of Christmas488 viewsMarion’s First Congregational Church delivered the season’s perfection with Cassandra Morgan directing ‘The Heart of Christmas’ cantata. This annual event is sugar on the plums for anyone who appreciates live music. The combined voices and instruments of over 60 performers filled the church with pitch perfect music telling the story of Jesus’ birth.
