This annual event is sugar on the plums for anyone who appreciates live music. The combined voices and instruments of over 60 performers filled the church with pitch perfect music telling the story of Jesus’ birth. Library Henna414 viewsThe Elizabeth Taber Library hosted a henna tattoo program for teens, with each guest receiving their own henna creation by professional henna artist Heather Cault-Nulton. The art of henna dates back thousands of years and has recently grown in popularity. Marion Natural History Museum414 viewsOn Wednesday, the Marion Natural History Museum's after school group brought in their collections of rocks and minerals, coins, coral, and even Star Wars figures. We spoke about the history of collecting nature-related artifacts worldwide, beginning with "cabinets of curiosities" owned by individuals through modern day museums, and how studying these specimens helps us gain historic perspective. The group explored the museum's collections of minerals, shells, bird eggs and nests, among many other items.

Tabor Academy Polar Plunge414 viewsTabor Academy hosted its second annual Polar Plunge on Sunday, January 21 at Silvershell Beach to raise money for the school’s Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. Students from ‘fundraising rival’ Sandwich High also showed up, with scores of students and staff making a dash in and quickly out of the chilly waters. The plunge raised about $8,000.
