The public was welcome to tour the facilities, and children enjoyed exploring all the engines available at the station. Scouts raced carts down Holmes Street in Marion for a chance to help make their den the fastest in the pack. Dr. Thorson spoke about the practical, as well as emotional, reasons why New Englanders love their stone walls. Just looking at a stone wall in its natural landscape can provide an insight into the history of Earth's formation. Stone walls are aesthetically beautiful, give us hints about our past, and provide important habitat functions for both plants and animals.

Marion Halloween Parade 2017502 viewsHalloween in the Marion village is one event that shouldnât be missed! Hundreds upon hundreds of little ghosts, ghouls, and goblins took to the streets to show off their costumes and follow it up with some treats (no tricks) and refreshments at the Marion Music Hall, sponsored by those very kind witches at the Marion Art Center. Cushing Community Center on Sunday, December 8. âChiefâ Santa and Mrs. Claus entertained the little ones before enjoying a pizza lunch. Block Party!501 viewsIt was a little earlier than usual, but the annual Marion Block Party on August 28, 2010 went off without a hitch. Children enjoyed cotton candy, a bounce house and face-painting, while the grown-ups enjoyed conversation and good weather.
