Occasion Singers434 viewsLeft: The Marion Art Center celebrated Valentines Day a few days early as they welcomed the Occasion Singers for a sold out performance during the center’s Cabaret Night of Love Songs on Saturday evening, February 11. The capacity crowd was treated to a night of jazz, pop, older standards and love songs from the Tri-Town based vocal group. Tabor Academy Polar Plunge434 viewsTabor Academy hosted its second annual Polar Plunge on Sunday, January 21 at Silvershell Beach to raise money for the school’s Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. Students from ‘fundraising rival’ Sandwich High also showed up, with scores of students and staff making a dash in and quickly out of the chilly waters. The plunge raised about $8,000. Marion Natural History Museum434 viewsOn Wednesday, the Marion Natural History Museum after-school group had fun inspecting some of the residents of vernal pools. With the use of magnifying glasses, we studied wood frog and salamander egg masses, log-cabin caddis-fly larvae, tadpoles, and various bugs. All specimens were returned to their original pool and now the students can recognize and, hopefully, protect these animals in the future. We also had a chance to handle some sphagnum moss and took a close look at the plant's structure to see why
