An audience watched the two throw poems like punches during the MAC’s May 3 event, “Dickinson vs. Whitman, the Poetry Knockout!” Stephen Collins was back in the Tri-Town as Walt Whitman, facing off against the Tri-Town’s own Annemarie Fredericks in poetic fisticuffs.

FD Open House550 viewsThe Marion Fire Department held an Open House on October 10, 2009. The public was welcome to tour the facilities, and children enjoyed exploring all the engines available at the station. Donuts, coffee, and a hot breakfast were all offered courtesy of the fire department. An antique engine even offered a ride around the village. Photo by Anne O'Brien-Kakley

Fireworks Fundraiser550 viewsMaggie Fearons, Katie Nilson, Natalie Nilson and Georgia Toland work to raise money for the Marion Fireworks. Fundraising efforts have already yielded over $38,000 towards the effort. The exact figure needed is not known until the bids are opened and the costs of services such as police and fire details are quantified. Those wishing to contribute towards the Fireworks can send donations to Marion Fireworks, 2 Spring Street, Marion, MA 02738.
