Block Party!558 viewsIt was a little earlier than usual, but the annual Marion Block Party on August 28, 2010 went off without a hitch. Children enjoyed cotton candy, a bounce house and face-painting, while the grown-ups enjoyed conversation and good weather. It was an appropriate send-off to summer, before Old Rochester schools started back up on September 1. Photo by Felix Perez.

Marion Natural History Museum558 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's after school group had the chance to inspect some of the equipment used to count our local herring population. We heard about the species, its food chain, life cycle, and the predators of alewives in our area. Many thanks go to David Watling, Rochester herring inspector, for this fun, hands-on program.
