Activities ranged from rock climbing, cornhole, and facepainting to inflatable baseball, basketball, and axe throwing. Popcorn popped and hamburgers and hot dogs sizzled on the grill. Marion Natural History Museum101 viewsOn July 16, the Marion Natural History Museum's community group had a chance to explore some of our local butterfly species. We found a Clouded Sulphur, Eastern tailed blue, Monarchs, Little Wood Satyrs, Common Wood Nymphs, and two Pearl Crescents. We also learned to identify some of their host plants including Butterfly Weed, Milkweed, Sweet Pepperbush and Mountain Mint. The Museum wishes to thank Andrew Griffith of the Massachusetts Butterfly Association for sharing his expertise with our group. Our next Jul 23, 2025

The kids found painted turtles, a garter snake, bull frog tadpoles, green frog tadpoles and salamander larvae.
