Marion Natural History Museum104 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum would like to thank Andrew Griffith and his wife Lauren of the Massachusetts Butterfly Club for leading our May 10 walk. The museum's community group members had learned about our local butterflies and identified some of the host plants they rely on. Despite the rain earlier in the day, the sun came out and we saw Pearl Crescents at Washburn and Peck's and Zabulon Skippers at Parlowtown Road in Marion. Andrew has been a great resource for the museum, and we are grateful for

Fifteen pieces coupled with art hanging on the gallery walls gave life to the spaces and included traditional flower-arranging techniques and imaginative fairy landscapes of tiny mosses. Summer Reading Program145 viewsAs a kickoff to the summer reading program at the Elizabeth Taber Library and summer Natural History Museum programming, the Town of Marion was treated to a visit from a full-size whale, two very large dinosaurs and one baby dino named Spike. The Summer Block Party event held on June 24 started inside the Music Hall due to weather but later moved outside. The event also featured faux archeology digs and face painting.
