Many thanks to soil scientist Maggie Payne for her fun and fascinating program about composting with worms. We had a close up look at Red Wiggler worms and they definitely lived up to their name by jumping about during the program. We had a chance to inspect them using magnifying glasses and microscopes trying to determine which end was which. We then created a habitat for them with shredded paper and leftover vegetables. Each student had a chance to bring their worm farm home.
