Dr. Michael Moore of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, using the museum's harpoon and baleen, introduced the Marion Natural History Museum's after-school group to a little of Marion's whaling history. Students could ask questions and theorize why Sippican Harbor had the first recorded visit from a humpback whale this fall. We wish to thank Dr. Moore for the great program.
