Voters Rights Session By ACLU

A Know Your Rights session provided by the ACLU of Massachusetts will be held at 5:45 pm on Thursday, September 17, in the Community Room of the Marion Police Station, 550 Mill Street, Marion. The presenters will be Cole Gibson, Racial Justice Community Advocate, and Sierra Brown, Regional Community Advocate for the ACLU. Knowing your voting rights is critical so we can support everyone in our community and in our country. Learn what we need to do and what the ACLU does to protect this important aspect of our democracy. Regardless of political affiliation, all are welcome to learn and participate in this discussion.

The ACLU’s mission is to defend and expand civil rights and personal freedoms. Their legal team goes to court to protect issues such as free speech, due process, and equal protection under the law. Their policy team works with elected officials at the state and local levels. Their field team does community rights organizing and public education.

The ACLU is a nonprofit and nonpartisan. They don’t take money from the government, and they don’t endorse candidates, so they are free to hold everyone to account. They welcome volunteers.
