MYC Hosts Round the World Solo Sailor

Jerome Rand will be the host speaker at the Mattapoisett Yacht Club. His epic solo, around-the-world adventure aboard Mighty Sparrow, a Westsail 32, took him 271 days and covered nearly 30,000 miles. Listen to his tales from this voyage and his other sailing adventures. The event is on Saturday, August 1. Doors open at 5:30 pm; presentation begins at 6:30 pm.

Jerome narrates through his video clips of real-life adventures and lessons learned at sea. The ocean has always been Jerome’s greatest teacher. The challenges presented by solo offshore sailing start on land but extend far into the deep blue sea. Changing weather, equipment failures, uncertainty and isolation are unavoidable, and there is no pause button out on the water.
