Declaration & Dialogue: Reflections on 250 Years

Declaration & Dialogue: Reflections on 250 Years opens on July 10 with an artist reception on Friday, July 17 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the MAC, located at 80 Pleasant St. in Marion.

The exhibition and the reception are free to the public, who are warmly encouraged to visit.

As we mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we invited artists to engage deeply with what this milestone means now – through lenses of commemoration, critique, hope, and transformation. This exhibition showcases contemporary works that spark conversation, paired with historic artifacts or artworks on loan from private collections or institutions. Works in the show reflect the artist’s personal interpretation of the Declaration’s legacy – its ideals, challenges, complexities, or contradictions.

Gallery hours from now until July 25th are Tuesday-to-Friday: 1:00 pm to 5:00pm, Saturday: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and the galleries are closed Sunday-Monday. Regular hours will resume on July 28 as follows: Tuesday-to-Wednesday: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Thursday-to-Friday: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and the galleries remain closed on Sunday and Monday.
