Rochester Rodeo166 viewsThe second of the bi-weekly rodeo was held at the Rochester Fair Grounds this past Saturday by New England Rodeo. Present were over 20 professional bull riders from New England, Latin America, and Brazil. There were also professional barrel riders and mounted shooters. There were some young cowboys and cowgirls who also gave it their best to stay on a bucking pony. Marion Natural History Museum166 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's Coastal Explorations summer program had a chance to view some of the area's amphibian and reptile species at Washburn Park last week. The kids found painted turtles, a garter snake, bull frog tadpoles, green frog tadpoles and salamander larvae. Lions Club Easter Egg Bingo Hunt 165 viewsChildren had fun at Saturday’s Lions Club Easter Egg Bingo Hunt at Arch of the Meadow, located at the former airfield on Mendell Road in Rochester. Kayak Clinic165 viewsAugust 9 and 10, the Mattapoisett Land Trust in partnership with the Mattapoisett Recreation Department held two kayak clinics for children ages 8 to 12. MLT volunteers provided safety instructions, a major focus of the program. Kayak introductory instruction has been provided by the two organizations for six years.
