Old Rochester Youth Football’s170 viewsOld Rochester Youth Football’s 12-and-under team was the last Massachusetts entry among the eight programs represented in the four New England Pop Warner Regional Championship games held on Saturday at New Milford (Connecticut) High School. The Bulldogs earned some opportunities, thanks to great defensive plays like Nicholas Giokas’ first-quarter interception, a fumble forced by Benjamin Baptiste and recovered by David Medeiros Jr.,

Marion Museum of Natural History170 viewsThe Marion Museum of Natural History would like to thank Karen Alves Cronin and our volunteer parents for the wonderful program March 15. First, Karen showed us how gravity and a simple bucket suspended on a line and filled with paint can produce beautiful paintings. The students painted their canvases with a colorful background and then placed them under the suspended bucket pendulum. When filled with paint and rotated over the canvases.

Center School Art170 viewsChildren of all ages with their parents, guardians and grandparents filled Center School on March 23 to view artwork by Mattapoisett students ranging from Project GROW (preschool) to Grade 6. Greta Anderson is the Art teacher for both Mattapoisett schools and worked with a group of Mattapoisett PTA volunteers to mount and hang over 450 art pieces. "It's great to see so many families here!" she said. Principal Linda Ashley greeted visitors, walking some to their students' work.

Rick Plunkett is also pictured with Rochester Police Officer Austin Alves, who was Ryan Plunkett’s catcher when the two played together on the A’s of the ORYB Major League. Alves recalled a home run Ryan Plunkett hit over the left-field wall that got caught up in the top of the batting cage at Gifford Park.
