Ladder 49412 viewsThis month, the Rochester Fire Department received a piece of steel from the World Trade Center to be displayed at the Rochester Firefighter's Memorial. It was brought into town on Rochester's Ladder 1, formerly "Ladder 49" of FDNY. Rochester Memorial Day412 viewsRochester fared far better with its Memorial Day celebration than Marion and Mattapoisett did with theirs on rainy Monday. Sunday, May 29, was a picture perfect day for a parade. Rochester Grammar School Reunion412 viewsNearly a hundred people turned out to celebrate at the 10th Rochester Grammar School Reunion. Participants told “life stories,” sharing decades of experiences from careers, to marriages, to children and grandchildren. Octopurrfest412 viewsThe Rochester cat shelter “It’s All About the Animals” held its 2nd Annual Octopurrfest on Sunday, October 2. Raising over $7,000, owner/operator Pam Robinson said this year’s event was “absolutely over the top!” The shelter is in the process of building an addition to create a cat room and a porch. “I cannot thank everyone enough for their wonderful donation and participation,” said Robinson.
