Antiques in Rochester481 viewsGinny Decker brought a pair of Victorian era frames to be appraised at Rochester Woman's Club Antique and Collectible show. These frames contain photos of her grandparents Nathaniel and Betsy Barros. Betsy Barros was the cousin of Lavinia Warren Stratton, the wife of General Tom Thumb who was made famous by P.T. Barnum. Greenways481 viewsOn May 19, 2011, a group of volunteers from Rochester Green Ways converged on the corner of New Bedford Road and Dexter Lane to repair the damage done to their wildflower garden path by last springs flooding. The Green Ways Committee invites the public to use the path, to take the time to stop and smell the flowers, watch the butterflies and consider what a small group of volunteers can accomplish with community support. Rochester Country Fair 481 viewsThe Rochester Country Fair rolled into town on Thursday, August 18, filled the air with the sweet smells of Italian sausage and fried fair food, mixed with the smoke of diesel engines, and created that magical scent we all relish until the fair wrapped up on Sunday, August 21. Tractor pulls, animal shows, kids’ games, music, and wrestling (including the match between The Aardvark and Buck Chuck) delighted us while it lasted in the bucolic setting of Rochester, Massachusetts.
