Murphy the dog483 viewsFirefighters in Rochester rescued Murphy the dog from the icy waters off of Sarah Sherman Road after straying from his family and falling through the thin ice on December 20. Firefighter Jeff Eldridge mounted an ice sled and headed 300 feet across the frozen pond to reach Murphy. The two were then pulled to land and Murphy was promptly taken to the ambulance. Tractor pulls, animal shows, kids’ games, music, and wrestling (including the match between The Aardvark and Buck Chuck) delighted us while it lasted in the bucolic setting of Rochester, Massachusetts. Owner and operator of the no-kill shelter, Pam Robinson, said 100 percent of all proceeds would go directly to the care of the felines.
