Whether it be on the ground, on a waterlogged fallen tree, or up the side of a living host-tree, mushrooms seemed to be all about. In the department’s 10th year walking, the participants raised $8,500, the largest amount raised to date as they symbolized the extra weight of living with Multiple Sclerosis. In 2014, Deputy Fire Chief and Highway Surveyor Jeff Eldridge was diagnosed with MS after experiencing the pain of trigeminal neuralgia, a condition he continues to battle while serving the Town

Marion Natural History Museum 157 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum enjoyed a presentation by Stephanie Ellis, executive director of Wild Care, Inc. We heard how various animals get hurt, be it hit by a car, rat-poisoned birds of prey, glue traps, etc., and how Wild Care takes care of many wildlife species in their organization. Stephanie brought in "Garv," the Eastern Box Turtle; he was raised as a pet and does not know how to survive in the woods anymore.
