Memorial Day Boat Race333 viewsKeeping with an 80 year-old tradition, people with their home made boats raced toward the finish line during the annual Rochester Memorial Day Boat Race. Beginning at Grandma Hartley’s Reservoir on Snipatuit Road, boaters paddled the almost 12-mile race route to Herring Weir at River Road in Mattapoisett. There were 65 teams in all. Santa Arrives332 viewsThe Town of Rochester wasn’t able to host its traditional Christmas celebration this year, but the Fire Department made sure that Santa and Mrs. Claus and Sparky visited with children on Sunday outside Town Hall, where Board of Selectmen Chairman Paul Ciaburri presided over the lighting of the tree. Ciaburri was thrilled to report that the Christmas Angels, run by Lorraine Thompson with volunteers from the Council on Aging, the public library, local businesses, schools, and churches haven’t missed a beat.

Pan-Mass Challenge331 viewsCalib LaRue and Andrew Reveill were riders in the Pan-Mass Challenge and wanted to do something special for the neighborhood kids and have them ride around the neighborhood together before they left for their ride.
